Paywalling is hypocritical from the start because these creators are using the HF patch (free, fanmade), the xukmi shaders (free, fanmade) and the KKUS/KKUTS shaders (free, fanmade), use scenes to display their character (yes those too) that use the Conquestus furniture, accessories and maps mod (you guessed it), using most QOL of life mods that allow for easier use of accessories and character creations (yes those are free too)
Hell, they probably use a pirated copy of KK to boot
You're basically building your paid content off a mountain of content that was made for free by your predecessors for years and years
If KK still existed in its original form and none of those mods were accessible, their own content would not be possible.
If they had to pay for all of the mentionned above, a paid content creator would themselves have to pay somewhere in the range of 500 to 2000 dollars worth of licenses and subs a month to have access to all this content
They couldn't make any of their content in those conditions
Asking for compensation for private commissions would be ok, so is doing like Yurabe where your content is free and you just ask people to support if they can.
But the current status of paywalled content in Koikatsu is doing more to discourage people from getting into it or to keep making content in it, since every time something cool or a really nice character card comes along, you have to pay for them

It should be included in normal KK repack or HF Patch. I'm not sure about KKS.
DON'T DOWNLOAD MADEVIL PLUGIN PACK! Latest version on his pixiv. It will brick your Koikatsu.

Agree, this should also apply to Blender and Unity. Since those are both free to use programs anything that comes out using these should be free, specially Blender that has been on free development for more than a decade by our predecessors breathing air that is also free, damn this thing goes deep.

What you are saying applies equally to the Internet (Worldwide Web).
The creator made it available for free use, which caused the Internet to grow explosively and helped give rise to countless technologies. However, there is no rule that all content on the Internet must be unconditionally free. Whether free or paid, whether permission is obtained or not, everyone simply influences one another positively and contributes to development.
Good content can be paid or free. It is simply a matter of your 'choice.' No one is forcing you to spend money, and while there is already high-quality free content available that many people release for the sake of charity and deserve respect, there is absolutely no reason to criticize someone simply for providing something for a fee (excluding cases of profiteering with exorbitant pricing policies or stealing others' creative works).
Just like the Internet, the quality of Koikatsu content has always improved. I do not think the reason you mentioned hinders content creation applies, at least when looking at the current situation. (On the contrary, there are cases where the opposite is true.)
If you argue that the internet example is not justified because Koikatsu is a paid program,
if the Koikatsu creators had not wanted this type of content market, they would have taken measures on their own. Countless people purchased the product because the very fact that user custom modes work was Koikatsu's selling point. That is tantamount to tacit permission.

edit : Furthermore, you are applying standards only to what is produced by Koikatsu, but if works like the countless doujinshi held at Japan's Comiket had to be provided for free solely to protect the original creators' rights, there would be no high-quality hentai doujinshi in this world. Can someone please help me?
In the character card editor, I can no longer move items or use the Item Compact feature. I even reinstalled Koikatsu, but the Item Compact function still doesn't work.
